ForLab @ Dresdner Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2025

In 2025, Dresden’s research institutions will once again be the stage for exciting experiments, surprising moments of revelation, and intelligent questions. On June 20, 2025, the “Long Night of Science Dresden” (#LNdWDD) will once again invite thousands of visitors to experience science up close—this time under the motto: “The night that makes you smarter.”

Our local members of the ForLab network will of course be there! There will be two stations where ForLab research topics can be experienced. If you’re in the area, come by!

Guided tours on “How do you conduct research in the nanoworld?” (@NaMLab gGmbH)

Join our scientists in the cleanroom and learn interesting facts about the structure and work in this environment. Questions such as how clean is clean and why a cleanroom is needed will also be answered. Get a clear explanation of the possibilities for examining nanometer-thin layers optically, electrically, and physically.

How small are microchips and how are they made?

How small is “micro” really? First, take a look at the world of microsystems with VR glasses! Look into the virtual space and compare the size ratio between, for example, a blood cell and a modern microchip. We will also take you on a virtual tour of a real clean room, where you can explore the place where microchips are designed, built, and tested.
