ZMN TU Ilmenau: Winter School Green Micro- and Nanotechnologies

The Center for Micro- and Nanotechnologies (ZMN) at Technische Universität Ilmenau invites all interested people to a Winter School on “Green Micro- and Nanotechnologies”. The description states:

“The growing importance of sustainability and environmental compatibility calls for innovative solutions within the fields of micro- and nanotechnologies. In projects currently underway at our institute, we are conducting research on, among other things, memristic materials for neuromorphic electronics—that is, for new systems inspired by biology and extremely energy-efficient, in which memristic materials serve as the central building block of a novel, energy-saving computing hardware. […]
Green micro- and nanotechnologies refer to the application of micro- and nanotechnological approaches that take environmentally friendly and sustainable principles into account. To avoid negative ecological, economic, and social consequences of the growing demand for raw materials and energy, we need environmentally friendly information technology that is sustainable and climate-neutral throughout the entire value chain and across the entire material and product lifecycle.”

Online Kick-off: November 20, 2026
On-site Period: December 2–9, 2026
