ForLab Kompetenzatlas im What's Chippening Podcast von Silicon Saxony

Aside from the fact that the podcast “What’s Chippening”, produced by the industry association Silicon Saxony, is ALWAYS a must-listen for all “Chippies,” we’d like to highlight episode #61 in particular today: Because in this episode, the industry news segment (starting at min. 23) introduces the ForLab Competence Atlas, which was launched in March 2026!

The Competence Atlas is an online platform that makes the high-tech infrastructures and specific expertise in the field of microelectronics research at German universities visible, searchable, and accessible. The tool is organized as a database and an interactive network. It lists the competencies, technologies, and key players at the current 23 ForLab member universities. The design and development were coordinated primarily at the Technical University of Ilmenau / ZMN as part of the ForLab project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space.
